Insights with NetSupport: Rebekah Bawler - Digital skills in secondary schools
Show Notes

Becki Bawler, who works at Risca Community Comprehensive School and leads the development of the Digital Competence Framework in Wales, joined our Head of Education, Mark Anderson in this Insights from NetSupport video to discuss how digital skills are now at the forefront of Wales' educational goals.

The framework for digital competence is one of the three cross-curricular skills they discuss and is of equal importance to literacy and numeracy. She also discusses the significance of the Hwb platform, which is accessible to every student and teacher in Wales. During the pandemic, the Hwb platform, which provides access to Office 365, Google for Education, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other platforms, has been essential, allowing everyone easy remote access.

In addition, they discuss the significance of developing digital skills among teachers who are less digitally competent and suggest that training enthusiastic teachers from all faculties has been effective in promoting the development of digital skills and digital buy-in
